The preparation of a scientific edition of Midrash Esther Rabbah was supported by the Israel Science Foundation. With their support, we typed all of the textual witnesses of Midrash Esther Rabbah and they were arranged in a synoptic edition. The synoptic edition was then transferred to a PDF format which is presented here.

Many people helped us at various stages of this project; it is difficult to mention them all. Even so, we will thank those who helped us complete the project, Mr. Benzion Eshel and Dr. Aryeh Hayoun, for without their assistance, we would not have finished. Special thanks to Prof. David Golinkin, President of the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies, for his encouragement and for his initiative in establishing “The Midrash Project” which will publish scientific editions of various midrashim.
